Hennepin Inmate Visits
On-site jail visiting is available seven days a week. Visits are free on site and are conducted by video monitor at the Public Safety Facility, second floor, room 235. Each session lasts 20 minutes. A detainee may have visitors once per day and up to three times per week.

Hennepin Bail and Money

The sheriff's instructions say no change is given, no cash machine is available, and checks, debit cards, and credit cards are not accepted for this cash bail process. Weapons screening applies.
Money can be deposited in person at either jail location. At the Public Safety Facility, the front-lobby cash deposit machine is available 24/7. At Minneapolis City Hall, the cash deposit machine in the public visiting area is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The depositor needs the exact spelling of the detainee's name and personal identification number, also called a PAK; a daily roster is posted in the lobby.
Scam warning: Hennepin County's strongest official warning is practical. Do not trust callers demanding instant payment, gift cards, wire transfers, or card payments to clear jail, bail, or warrant issues. Verify through the jail phone line, the court, or the sheriff before paying.
Detainees are charged a transaction fee when withdrawing money from their account: 10 percent of the transaction or a $10 maximum. Initial deposits, final withdrawals, and money deposited for bail are not subject to that fee. Money pickup from a detainee is handled through the property room seven days a week from 7 to 10 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.
